Pokémon will have its 25th anniversary this year and The Pokémon Company plans to celebrate it big.
Pokémon Center can confirm that, according to sources close to the company, remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl , originally released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS, are in development for the Nintendo Switch .
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were the first games in the main Pokémon saga for the Nintendo DS. They started the fourth generation of Pokémon and introduced the Sinnoh region , as well as the initials Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup .
The Pokémon Company plans to officially reveal the remakes of Pokémon Diamonds and Pearl for Nintendo Switch in February, according to sources close to the company. In addition, this new installment will be different from Pokémon Let’s Go, the remake of Kanto released in 2018, maintaining the classic style of Pokémon capture, according to the Pokémon Center.
The 25th anniversary of Pokémon will not be limited to the games of the main series. New Pokémon Snap will be released on April 30 and Katy Perry will collaborate with the company producing a theme song, along with other guest artists. They also plan a new show “Legends”, of which more information should be revealed in the future.
