Friday the 13th: The Game will receive its final patch in November

Spread the word!

Development on Friday the 13th: The Game is coming to an end in its next patch, developer Illfonic announced on Tuesday.

The game’s final patch will be released sometime in November. The patch will fix many issues that the community has been requesting, though the specific changes will have to wait until Illfonic releases the patch notes the week before the patch goes live.

One thing we know for sure about the final patch is that it will decommission Friday the 13th: The Game’s dedicated servers. While this means that officially hosted games will be going away, players will still be able to play the game. According to Illfonic, matchmaking for Friday the 13th: The Game will continue to support matchmaking, but matches will be hosted peer-to-peer for quick play and private matches.

The developer’s official forum post also gives fans a few more bits of information about how the game will live on, including the fact that the forum itself will remain readable, but posting will be locked. Meanwhile, the website Jasonkillsbugs.com, which is dedicated to bug fixes in Friday the 13th: The Game, will remain active. Illfonic will also indefinitely continue to run the double XP event that it started earlier this year.

There’s no hard date yet for the final patch of Friday the 13th: The Game, but patch notes should be out in the near future for the patch’s release later this month.
