Comparatively high pricing for OLED TVs versus LCD TVs is a big reason why we have not see mass adoption in the mainstream, even as buyers look to upgrade from 1080p to 4K. The situation is improving, though, and today Newegg is offering some tantalizing flash discounts on a couple of LG’s OLED TVs.
There are two OLED models that are on sale, both from LG’s B7A series for 2017. One is the 55-inch model ($1,400, down from $2,000), and the other is the 65-inch model ($2,150, down from $3,000). You can grab the 55-inch model here and the 65-inch model here, selling new on Newegg.
For UK folks, the same can be had for deep discounts too from Amazon UK: The 55-inch model is here for £1,529, and the Crampton & Moore is selling for an even lower £1,499.
You can snag a 55-inch or 65-inch LCD TV for much less, but if you want to go OLED, now is the time to pounce. If we had to guess, we’d say LG and its retail partners are looking to clear out 2017 inventories in preparation for 2018 models, and that means you can save big on OLED.
LG’s B7 series is rated highly overall at Rtings, with high scores in gaming (8.6 out of 10), HDR gaming (8.5), and PC monitor (8.2) categories.
“The B7A is a great 4k gaming TV. It’s very responsive thanks to its low input lag and low amount of motion blur. Its overall great picture quality also helps make video games particularly immersive,” Rtings said.
