Monster Hunter: World Has Shipped The Most Units In Capcom History

Spread the word!

In its fiscal year-end report, Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter: World has shipped over 12 million units worldwide – a record for the company.

When it came out in January of last year, Capcom was delighted over excitement for the game. It shipped five million copies in three days – a series record. Less than two weeks later, another million were sent out to retailers.

“Units shipped” is different than the number of copies actually sold to consumers, but the fact that over a year later Capcom has doubled its shipments of the game (with help from the PC release last August) clearly demonstrates Monster Hunter: World’s sustained success.

Elsewhere for the company, Resident Evil 2 “exceeded expectations” and Devil May Cry 5 did well, particularly outside of Japan.

All of this culminates in high expectations within Capcom for the coming fiscal year (ending March 31, 2020), with a third-consecutive year of record high profit forecasted.
