Play the SNES Classic wirelessly with 8Bitdo’s SN30 controller

Spread the word!

8Bitdo has made a name for itself delivering some of the best wireless controllers for systems ranging from the NES Classic to the actual NES and SNES. Now, it’s releasing the SN30 wireless controller and adapter — along with the Super Famicom-themed SF30 — for $25, shipping just in time for the holidays. And they support the coveted Down + Select home screen shortcut!

That’s $10 less than its existing SNES30 and SFC30 Bluetooth controllers, and $15 less than last year’s NES30 and Retro Receiver … but there’s a catch. While the existing Bluetooth receivers are capable of using controllers from 8Bitdo’s own to the PS4 and even the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, this SNES package uses a 2.5 Ghz connection and is “SNES Classic exclusive,” according to a spokesperson.

If you prefer the flexibility of the Bluetooth option, or if you already have a Retro Receiver from last year’s NES Classic, good news: It will work with the SNES Classic “soon.”

“The RR for NES will also work with the SNES Classic with a firmware update that we’ll be releasing soon,” the 8Bitdo spokesperson told us. That receiver is available on Amazon for about $17, and support a host of controller options, including the $35 SNES30 and SFC30.

But if you want to stick with the all-in-one solution, you can preorder the SN30 and SF30 exclusively through Amazon now.
