Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings together a multitude of collectibles from different Nintendo series, such as The Legend of Zelda, in the form of spirits. These spirits enhance your fighter’s abilities and can also be viewed in your gallery. Since 2021, Nintendo has not added any new spirits (excluding DLCs), but that will soon change.
On January 11th, new collectible spirits will be added, including King Rauru, the Sage of Light from Tears of the Kingdom. You can obtain him by battling and defeating him on the spirit board during the five-day event. Nintendo explains this in their tweet.

According to his Japanese profile, King Rauru will be a legendary-ranked spirit and will enhance all special moves.

After the event ends, it is expected that Rauru’s spirit can be randomly found on the spirit board, just like in previous events. So, don’t worry if you don’t play during the five-day event!
Despite being released in May 2023, Tears of the Kingdom is still going strong. However, attention is already shifting towards the future, and for now, this is all we know about the next game in The Legend of Zelda series.
