Square Enix reveals mech game Left Alive

Spread the word!

Square Enix teased a new game, Left Alive, at Sony Interactive Entertainment’s pre-Tokyo Game Show 2017 press conference today. While details are scarce, the pedigree of the people working on the game — including Metal Gear character designer Yoji Shinkawa — offers hope for something exciting.

Joining Shinkawa on Left Alive will be director Toshifumi Nabeshima, whose previous work includes production on the Armored Core series and Chromehounds at FromSoftware.

Left Alive’s first teaser trailer hinted at a mech action game, reminiscent of Armored Core, in which mechs appeared to be transported by military helicopter into a war zone. The game was described as a “survival-action shooter.”

Left Alive is slated for release sometime in 2018 on PlayStation 4. Here’s a peek at some of Shinkawa’s character designs.
