Takaya Imamura , the man who created Link’s counterpart on Termina , is leaving Nintendo after more than thirty years working for the company.
Said designer has worked on titles such as Star Fox , F-Zero and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask . Today he shared an image with a message (which we have translated in subsequent lines) on his Twitter and Facebook page , and you can access that content here . Of course, we will also share it for you from this website:
“This is my last day coming to work. I took a selfie with the office empty. I guess I won’t have to come here anymore. As you can imagine, I will miss it. It has been 32 years! ”
(The offices were empty due to the pandemic)
Takaya Imamura joined Nintendo in 1989 as a graphic designer, working for F-Zero . He modeled the Star Fox characters based on his co-workers, using Miyamoto as the basis for Fox McCloud , and also as the inspiration to create Tingle . In addition, he also supervised Super Smash Bros. Thanks to him, we have also had the likeable Tingle in two of our own spin-offs , in Hyrule Warriors , the Super Smash Bros. series , and in several titles of the main series ofThe Legend of Zelda .
At the age of 54, he leaves the company, and we hope that he will do very well in his bright future. Thank you, thank you, Kurulin… PA, Imamura!
